It's been a BIG day!

I have been Webolutioning all afternoon, and I do believe that the World Wide Web is fair sick of me!! It's been a very productive afternoon, and I have nearly finished all Webolution activities...except: Zoho Writer decided it didn't want to play nice! It got caught in loops, didn't like this click, didn't like that clack. And I was really excited about being intoduced to it! Hmmmm...I'll have to rethink my third date with it.
: I got on to YouTube, and found the good old Palmolive ad from the seventies...oooh, it does get in. I need Katie's help though to get it on my blog.
: Finally, the podcast sites came up with only one viable link, and then that one wanted me to upload software to play them. Does anyone out there have other podcast websites I can check out? Help!!

have to go now and eat spaghetti bolognese (gluten-free, dairy-free!)...with a BIG, FAT can of Coke!

Wikis

I really enjoyed looking at the different wikis, especially the library ones. I like the idea of making the library wiki a community information centre...i could find the nearest Justice of the Peace anytime! Claims return just got a whole lot easier!

Library 2.0

I have read several articles about Web 2.0, and how it pertains to libraries. My personal thoughts are that it is technology that libraries need to embrace, implement, and promote to patrons. I think we can run training classes for using Web 2.0, and also classes on how to search effectively. I love the thought of libraries all over the world connecting through the harnessing of Web 2.0 ie, sharing bibliographic data, metadata. The possibilities of how to apply Web 2.0 in our library service is really only limited by our imaginations (thank goodness I got a 'creativity spell' yesterday!).
As I have always said from the start...Viva le Webolution!

I have just visited Technorati, and laughed my arse off!! I investigated Technorati's 'Top 100 blogs', and found myself at www.boingboing.net, looking at the literal lyric-video version of Billy Idol's 'White Wedding'. The tears were literally pouring out...mum had to come in and make sure I was alright. This site more than makes up for the perceived dullness of Delicious. I hope the link to the video works, and you do need sound. Let me know what you think.

Delicious

I have been looking through, and around Delicious, and I must confess-I need direction. I find the site very busy, and although I understand it's purpose, I haven't found it friendly or easy to navigate. Out of all the cool stuff we have had a look at so far for Webolution 2.0, this one is my least favourite. I am open to tutorials and further education about Delicious if any one wants to share...

Rollyo

I have just finished playing around with Rollyo. It is a fun site, but am not too sure I have linked it to my blog correctly. I don't know when I'd use Rollyo, cause it reminds me of my 'favourites' link on my homepage. This, I use alot. Anyhoo, having said that, I'll probably find I use it all the time now! Good to know it's out there.

I ahve been a busy little Webolutionary this morning. I LOVE LibraryThing, and believe I can use it alot in the library for reference enquiries and requests. I can't quite figure how to get that widget on my blog though...Katie! I also like the look of Rollyo and could use that for sites I use the most when I'm at work (and one for home too!). I was going to create a list, but couldn't think of an appropriate title. Hmmm, I'll have to ponder that one. My brain's going to seize any moment, must be time for lunch. See y'all soon.
Check out my Warning Sign at the bottom of the page. I think I'll leave it there permanently coz that's what most of days feel like...
I reckon using Warning Signs is great way to show what's going on, and it's heaps o' fun! We could use these on the library web page to capture people's attention about new events that are coming up in the library.
Oh dear! Can it really be soooo long since I last blogged? What happened? What kind of non-blogging vortex did I get sucked into? I think it may have been Christmas...
Well, I'm back, and completely focused on slipping back into the Webolution.
Blog soon.
p.s. I'm taking part in the World's Greatest Shave this year, if you'd like to sponsor me, please go to the aforementioned website and search for Ellen Fischer. You can sponsor on-line, or give me the cashola in person. Cheers. And I'd like to send a HUGE thank you to all those lovely, generous people who already have.
